Thanks for stopping by! I’m Kristie, owner of Marketplace by APD. I started my business in 2009 doing photography, graphic design and web design. I have always loved design, and crafting was a hobby. I kept seeing lasers but knew nothing about them. I never said anything because they were expensive. One day my husband showed me one he saw online, he was actually interested in it. I said funny, because I've been wanting one. It was a diode laser, and it was inexpensive. We decided to get it to see if it was even something we would be interested in. Of course, it was. It was natural with my design background and Jason’s woodworking skills and expertise in coatings, we became a husband wife team. Within a week, I knew I had already outgrown it due to it's slow speed and limitations. I wanted to be able to do other materials that weren't possible with a diode laser.
The hobby that started with that little diode grew and we purchased a new Aeon Co2 and a Fiber laser so we can grow our business.

Team:
- Kristie - Owner, designer, the lady who runs the machine, puts the products together and handles all other office and business related tasks.
- Jason - The man that keeps everything running smooth, from working tirelessly to get our space ready as well as staying on top of the maintenance. He also typically does the finishing as that is his lifelong background. (he works a full time job, but maybe one day he can leave that and join me.)
- Aerie – She’s the real boss. A playful staffy/boxer mix who demands belly rubs, and bats at us if we don’t give her enough attention. She is our shadow if we step out the door to go work, but mostly wants to run outside, carry big sticks and guard the door. By the end of the day, she can’t wait to come in and snuggle on the couch.
- By operating as a small team, we feel it gives us more control over the quality of our work, as well as a better opportunity to connect with our clients.
